Junior Training starts post COVID-19 2nd Lockdown

4th Dec 2020

The club was happy to start junior training this week (3rd Dec) following the end of the second COVID-19 lockdown of 2020.

Following discussions with Bucklers Mead Leisure Centre, an agreement was reached that allowed the club to offer junior training using the hall at reduced capacity. Our thanks go out to LED and their Bucklers Mead team for their support in allowing us to give our junior members and juniors interested in trying volleyball the opportunity to play in these testing times.

The club's investment in a full-length net that can stretch the length of the sports hall allowed the club to operate recreational training sessions with bubbles of six on small courts following the first COVID-19 lockdown. With Somerset and Dorset coming out of the second lockdown in Tier 2, the club is sadly only allowed currently to offer training indoors to juniors using the same system.

As well as the club's junior members, a number of juniors who had contacted the club during the lockdown came along as well to give volleyball a try. We hope they liked it and that we see them back again next week.

If there are any other juniors out there that want to give volleyball a try, we hope you consider coming along and giving it a try. To ensure we can maintain a safe environment in line with COVID-19 regulations, especially with regard to numbers, please contact the club if you are interested.

We keep our fingers crossed that following the next review (due on 16th December) we will be able to expand our training sessions to adults as well. Keep watching the club's socials for updates!
