YVC first entered a mixed team into the Bristol & District league in the 2019/20 season,, with the aim to give as many new and recreational players a chance to play some competitive indoor volleyball rather than trying to field a winning team. It acts as a stepping stone into the club's higher level teams if players wish. The mixed division rules state the team has to include at least three wildcard players: juniors under 17, seniors over 55 and at least two women so this gave all the club's members a good opportunity to play.

Post COVID-19, in the 2021/2 season the club entered a men's team into division 2 of the men's league and the mixed team folded. However, the club is pleased that since the 2023/4 season, it is fielding a mixed team again!
